02/Feb/2016: Parwaan National Center of Excellence organized a special session on importance of Early Childhood Development (ECD) at a two day International Conference on Research & Education held at Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad to create awareness about ECD amongst students and academia.

President Parwaan Ms. Mehnaz Aziz highlighted the importance of Early Childhood Development (ECD) and noted that we should look at the successful models of ECD being implemented in the developed countries and learn from their best practices while specifically highlighting the ECD models being implemented in China.

While referring to Article 25-A of the constitution of Pakistan, Ms. Aziz stated that the state does not caters the educational and developmental needs of children below the age of 5 years after the 18th amendment. She told that Children’s Global Network is soon going to launch an innovative social entrepreneurship model for ECD. The programme will train 6000 educated females across Pakistan to establish their own ECD centers in their respective communities which will help in providing early childhood care and development to the children of mostly marginalized areas of Pakistan.

The session was attended by World Food Programme representative, Education specialist form Aga Khan Foundation, World Bank and Open Society Foundations.
