Who We are

Children’s Global Network Pakistan (Guarantee) Limited (formerly known as Children’s Resources International, Pakistan) is a not for profit education institution registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan under Companies Ordinance 1984.

Children’s Global Network Pakistan (CGN-P) was initiated in 2002 with the funding support of the USAID. CGN’P’s sole purpose was to support provision of high quality education for all children, especially those from marginalized segments of society, by training teachers on child centered interactive teaching methods. We work closely with educators, stake holders, the federal, provincial, and local governments. The teaching methodology has been tested in more than 30 countries and is benefiting 1.25 million children world wide. It supports change at all levels, including government, universities, schools and local communities.

Initially, based on sound research and philosophy, the much needed comprehensive child centered product was implemented as a pilot program. The Interactive Teaching and Learning methodology bridge the transition from Early Childhood Education to the primary level. The positive impact of the methodology created a behavioral change for the better in both the students and the teachers. The classroom environment become more pleasant and the students excelled due to the involvement of their parents and families in their education.

At the behest of the parents, and on the request of the government, the comprehensive Interactive Teaching and Learning Methodology has now been institutionalized and modeled in the entire school district of Islamabad. CGN-P also has partner schools using their methodology in Rawalpindi, Karachi City District, AJK and in other cities in all the four provinces.

Recently, a case study on learning outcomes of the children from CGN-P partner schools was undertaken by Lahore University of Management Sciences in collaboration with CGN-P, and the Federal Directorate of Education. The studies key findings are that CGN-P partner school students attended classes more regularly, did better in English, Urdu and Math compared to non CGN-P students. Additionally, CGN-P partner school students learn a broad set of life skills, without without adversely affecting their regular school work  This case study clearly demonstrated the success of the program.

The implementing pillars that control the quality of the program are: Early Childhood Education, Intergenerational Family Literacy Program, Parent and Community Involvement, Higher Education and Policy reforms. All these support each other enabling the organization to bring a real change at all levels. MoU is signed with the respective education departments to define roles and responsibilities.

Professional capacities of teachers are strengthened to bring a change in the overall classroom environment, and teachers are fully versed in the latest teaching pedagogies. The training of teachers is also supported by CGN-P publications. In order for the teachers to be at ease and understand the philosophy of a child centered approach properly, all of our publications are in Urdu.

Learning materials that help in clarifying concepts to the children are provided in partner classrooms. A special feature of our program is the stress laid on parental involvement through inviting them to participate in their child’s classroom. The Family Literacy program has been developed to educate non-literate parents and to achieve simultaneous improvement in the child’s and parent’s education.

CGN-P also targets institutions that produce educators of educators so that the cadres of teachers that come out of these institutions are equipped with methodologies relevant to international standards. CGN-P is also active at the policy level. As an expert in best educational practices CGN-P has been invited to policy reviews on education. CGN-P was involved in the National Policy Review (1998-2010) with the Federal Ministry of Education, especially for Early Childhood Education and Teacher Training and Accreditation. CGN-P will continue to inform the government on policy matters based on our ongoing extensive on the ground implementation.

Children’s Global Network has conducted a series of exercises in support of the education sector reforms.
